Where did Bachata come from?
Bachata originated in the Dominican Republic in the early 20th century, developing as a heartfelt expression of love, heartbreak, and everyday life.
It spread globally throughout the 2000s & continues to grow across the UK, with thriving scenes in most cities.

Modern Styles & Influences
Bachata has evolved into several distinct styles, including traditional Dominican, modern & sensual. Traditional Bachata emphasizes footwork & rhythm, while modern styles incorporate elements from salsa, ballroom & other partner dances.
Sensual Bachata, known for its body isolations & smooth flow, has been especially influential in the global scene & is widely taught in UK dance schools.
